As an International Board Certified Lactation Consult (IBCLC) My practice is one of a holistic approach to education and support for the transition into parenthood. I strive to provide you with strategies, knowledge and confidence to breastfeed and care for your baby.

I believe all families should be empowered and supported in this exciting time in their lives. To maximise your opportunities to breastfeed or provide breastmilk to your baby the way you want and for however long you want.
My Midwifery and Lactation consultant practice is based on current evidence based research that supports the art of breastfeeding and parenting. I offer my services within your home to better understand and support your family dynamic. I can (and have) successfully help with breastfeeding positioning and attachment via skype or FaceTime anywhere in Australia.
What’s Included in My lactation Care?
- My lactation consult assesses you and your baby’s feeding, latch, and overall progress. I provide tailored advice to suit your individual needs and goals.
- I will guide you on how to position your baby for a deeper, more comfortable latch. This helps reduce pain and improves effective milk transfer.
- Whether you’re worried about low supply or oversupply, I will help identify the cause and create a plan to regulate feeding and milk production.
- I will provide support for challenges like sore nipples, engorgement, blocked ducts, and mastitis, helping you stay comfortable and continue feeding.
- I will teach you hand expressing and pump use, along with safe milk storage. Guidance is also provided for mixed feeding, bottle use, or returning to work.
- My lactation consultant experience offers reassurance, education, and follow-up support so you feel confident and supported throughout your feeding journey.

Do I need a referral?
No, you do not need a referral to access our midwifery and lactation services. Chrissy provides Medicare-rebated maternity care for women across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, and surrounding areas, offering personalized support from pregnancy through to 6 weeks postnatal.
Unfortunately, bulk billing is not available beyond 6 weeks postpartum, but ongoing lactation and postnatal support can still be arranged as needed (out of pocket fees apply).
